SIMtone's
ASPEED
achieves dramatic response time improvements by enabling
new and existing applications to exploit multi-core,
multi-CPU, desktop, server, workgroup, cluster and grid configurations with its unique application expediting functionality.
SIMtone's
ASPEED
is not dependent of any infrastructure components beyond those normally on any
desktop or server.
Additionally because it is an application implementation there are no co-requisite management servers or
additional infrastructure components required.
If the environment has unique
scheduling and resource management infrastructure the applications enabled by
SIMtone's ASPEED will be able to leverage these.
For example current SIMtone clients use ASPEED on their
DataSynapse, Platform and United Devices grids.
Technologically,
SIMtone's ASPEED consists of an API, an
ASPEED engine and SIMtone provided high performance
communications middleware (ACCom)
which are all linked into the application. When an
ASPEED accelerated application is run, the ASPEED Engine spawns and
manages the workload to the instantiations as needed. Should
the target environment demand MPI or other communications middleware, the
ASPEED accelerated application can transparently use
other communications middleware including MPI, PVM and other
specialty protocols.
This approach enables the application
architecture to be opened to new configurations and higher
robustness without altering the business or algorithmic
logic. Once accelerated with SIMtone's ASPEED the application is in
charge of its own destiny and performance and is enabled at
run-time and while executing to
dynamically adjustment the execution workload based on the interim results and progress. This application
infrastructure also enables a repeatable methodology that lets developers focus on business logic and processes rather than the complexities typically associated with developing,
maintaining and tuning distributed programs
while ensuring optimum and reliable response time.
