Dr. Peter Carr
Dr. Peter Carr is presently the Head of Quantitative Research at Bloomberg LP, where his group is responsible for all facets of the business operation relating to modeling and analytics. He is also the Director of the Masters in Math Finance program at NYU's Courant Institute. Prior to his current positions, Dr. Carr headed equity derivative research groups for six years at Banc of America Securities and at Morgan Stanley. He previously held positions as an adjunct professor at Columbia University and a Finance professor at Cornell University. Since receiving his PhD. in Finance from UCLA in 1989, Peter’s work has been published extensively in both academic and industry-oriented journals. Aside from his professional responsibilities Dr. Carr is also treasurer of the Bachelier Finance Society; a practitioner director for the Financial Management Association; and an associate editor for six academic journals related to mathematical finance and derivatives. He has spoken at many practitioner and academic conferences during his career. He is credited with numerous contributions to quantitative finance including: co-inventing the variance gamma model, inventing static and semi-static hedging of exotic options, and popularizing variance swaps and corridor variance swaps. Dr. Carr has recently won awards from Wilmott Magazine for ``Cutting Edge Research'' and from Risk Magazine for ``Quant of the Year''.

Professor Thomas F. Coleman
Thomas Coleman is a professor of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at Cornell University and Director of The Cornell Theory Center (a supercomputer center). From 1998-2001he was the Chair of the SIAM Activity Group on Optimization and is currently on the editorial board of numerous professional journals. Professor Coleman is the author of two books on computational mathematics, the editor of four proceedings, and has published over sixty articles in the areas of optimization, automatic differentiation, parallel computing, and computational finance. He founded and now directs CTC-Manhattan, a computational finance venture in New York and is a research consultant for a number of finance-related companies around the world. Professor Coleman received his PhD in mathematics from the University of Waterloo, worked for two years as a post-doc in the Applied Mathematics Division of Argonne National Laboratory (Chicago) and has been a faculty member in the Computer Science Department at Cornell University since 1981.

Steve Rubinow

Mr. Rubinow as Chief Technology Officer, leads Archipelago's information technology, operations and development groups in addition to being responsible for building a state-of-the-art data center in Chicago. Steve was most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Information/Technology Officer at NextCard, Inc., a leading Internet provider of consumer credit. In this role he was responsible for all aspects of technology including software and database engineering, operations, architecture and quality assurance. Prior to joining NextCard, his past experiences included positions at AdKnowledge, Inc. where he was the Chief Information Officer and Fidelity Investments as Vice President, Corporate Management Information Systems. Steve earned the BS, MS and PhD degrees in Chemistry and an MBA at the University of Illinois as well as an MS in Computer Science at DePaul University.

David Waxman
Mr. Waxman is a General Partner with Equip Ventures, a seed stage
venture capital fund. Mr. Waxman is a high tech serial entrepreneur. Over the past fifteen years he has been an investor and advisor to emerging technology companies as well as an advisor to venture funds. From 1993-2000,
Mr. Waxman was the Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of CompassWare Development and later at GiftWorld.com. He is currently serving as Chairman of DropZone Networks and his quarterly newsletter on the VC landscape is widely read throughout the technology and venture communities. Mr. Waxman has also served as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at SAS Investors, a seed fund backed by Sevin Rosen, Canaan Partners and Rho Management. He holds a BS degree with Honors from Yeshiva University and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business, where he serves as a Guest Lecturer for Venture Capital and entrepreneurial-related courses.
